Let's not forget the early days of the 747 when the upper deck would have
bars, pianos, pubs, etc.  It didn't take long for the accountants to remind
the marketing people of that old saw, "arses in seats, planes in the air",
and before you know it, they crammed the upper deck with seats.  If you were
lucky, your airline actually bothered to punch out some extra windows up
there so you could see where you were headed...
