Northwest flights pulled from Expedia after contract dispute The travel Web site Expedia removed Northwest Airlines tickets from its search engine Tuesday after contract talks between the two companies broke down. The dispute reportedly centered around Expedia's refusal to offer the exact terms offered by Orbitz, the Internet travel company launched more than a year ago by five major carriers, including Northwest. Expedia was "unwilling to commit to display Northwest's products in an unbiased manner as Orbitz does and ... would not offer the cost of distribution economics offered by Orbitz," a Northwest official wrote in a letter to Expedia. As a result, Northwest contends Expedia had become its highest-priced distribution outlet, both online and off.
