JFK to TLV or YUL/YYZ to TLV?

Thanks for the Air Canada note.

If I wanted to travel to TLV (Tel Aviv) from BOS, is it more practical to
transit through NY and then direct via EL AL or Canada? Is is 50/50? Not
really worth it? I was wondering how good AC's service was to TLV?
