New light rail system to JFK derails during testing

A train operator was killed today while testing a new light rail system that
is supposed to link Kennedy Airport with other public transportation.The Port
Authority says three cars of the AirTran derailed just before 12:30 P-M,
injuring the 23-year-old train operator. Kelvin DeBourgh died a few hours
later at Jamaica Hospital.DeBourgh worked for Bombardier, the company that
designed and built the train.The Port Authority is investigating what caused
the train to derail.The train was scheduled to begin service by the end of
the year.
