Air India and Air Canada are in preliminary talks over a possible codeshare deal for traffic between Canada and India. The Indian Civil Aviation Minister Shahnawaz Hussain and the Canadian Transportation Minister David Collenette met last week in Ottawa and agreed to permit these kind of operations within the framework of the existing bilateral. Tentatively, this would involve Air India putting their code on Air Canada's services to Toronto and Vancouver from Frankfurt and London Heathrow, with Air Canada being permitted to place their code upon Air India's services from Frankfurt and London to Delhi and Mumbai. At present there is no target timeframe for introducing this service, but it is expected for the winter 2003 season. Leo/ORD Email me at KLM_India@yahoo.com or LFutia@aol.com. The choice is yours.
