Two of the three Washington, DC airports have had their codes changed, too. Dulles Airport was originally DIA, but the code was changed to IAD in 1968 because DIA was too similar to DCA, the code for Washington National. Baltimore Airport's code was changed from BAL to BWI in the late 1970s, after the airport's name was changed from Friendship Airport to Baltimore-Washington International. Joe Wolf
