US Airways sued over plane lease US Airways Group Inc. was sued by Ameriquest Holdings LLC, which leased a Boeing Co. 737 to the airline and claims damages of more than $1 million for an alleged breach of contract. US Airways defaulted on the contract when the carrier failed to make a $74,232 rent payment on July 1, Ameriquest claimed in a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court of Southern Florida. The damages also include rent due for July and August. US Airways told some lessors and lenders in June it would start deferring payments on some aircraft leases to help in a financial restructuring. "They're in breach of our contract," said Brad Gupta, president of Chicago-based Ameriquest. US Airways spokesman David Castelveter declined comment, saying the company hadn't seen the suit yet.
