Integrating foreigners into security forces is not a new issue. In the summer of 1939, fully 40% of the French Foreign Legion was made of of German nationals who spoke little French, mostly dispatched in North Africa. This certainly had repercussions on the face of the conflict there over the next few years. US airport screeners ought to be naturalized citizens, and ought to speak English correctly.
