Continental ends codeshare talks with US Air Wednesday July 3, 12:19 PM EDT CHICAGO, July 3 (Reuters) - Continental Airlines U), after rival United Airlines in late June said it was close to such a deal. Continental said it determined a deal with US Airways would not be reached in the near future. Continental, the No. 5 U.S. airline based in Houston, already has a code-share arrangement with Northwest Airlines Corp. (NWAC), the fourth largest U.S. carrier. Code-sharing allows airlines to place their two-letter code on one another's flights. Continental has said its Northwest deal generates about $200 million annually. US Airways, the No. 6 airline based in Arlington, Virginia, had said it was talking to several carriers about code-sharing as it looks for ways to shore up revenues. Roger EWROPS
