You can't blame Air Canada for that one. It's probably one of the few things you can't blame them for. The difference in the taxes would have been for the Canadian Security tax of $24.00 and the rest you can blame Uncle Sam for. They are all U.S. taxes. Most notibly you are paying for the priveledge of going through U.S. Customs and Immigration and some other fees because your Gov't considers the first 200 or so miles of Canada to be in the U.S. Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Kinniburgh" <SKinniburg@aol.com> To: <AIRLINE@LISTSERV.CUNY.EDU> Sent: Friday, June 21, 2002 8:48 AM Subject: Canadian Tax > While checking fares to GLA/AMS from SFO, I noticed Air Canada is now > charging pax twice as much for tax ($202.03), vs. United Airlines tax > ($78.00....) > > Perhaps Air Canada also needs to have a $3.00 canadian (5 cents US) seat sale > for consumers to be able to actually afford their product. > > Shame on you Air Canada/Canadian Goverment...Lufthansa got my business this > time! > > Scott SFO >
