ATA Introduces Complimentary Inflight Entertainment
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2002--ATA (American Trans Air, =
Inc., Nasdaq:AMTR) today announced that on June 1st the carrier began =
offering complimentary inflight entertainment on most of its scheduled =
service, military charter and Ambassadair Travel Club flights. The =
entertainment, which consists of short subject programs via the ATA =
Entertainment Network, videos and movies (for flights over three hours), =
are seen on state-of-the-art, drop down video screens using the =
programmable audio-visual entertainment system (PAVES). This innovative =
entertainment system will provide passengers with enjoyable, up-to-date =
entertainment for their viewing pleasure during the flight.=20

technology to enhance their travel experience," said Don Moonjian, ATA =
Vice President of Marketing. "Customers will find the movies and short =
subject programs contemporary, and our flight attendants will discover =
that using PAVES is convenient and user-friendly allowing them more time =
to tend to the needs of passengers."=20

Each month passengers will enjoy a new movie release. Feature movies =
this summer include "Spy Game" and "A Beautiful Mind" (in June), "The =
Rookie" and "High Crimes" (in July) and "Spiderman" and "Changing Lanes" =
(in August).=20

Accessing the new inflight entertainment system is simple and =
convenient. Customers can either bring their headset from a home stereo =
or Disc Man, or they can purchase a brand new headset from ATA for $1. =
Once a headset is purchased it can be used on all future ATA flights - =
free of charge. Additionally, the ATA headset, which comes in a =
convenient carrying case, can be used in home stereo systems, Disc Man =
and other electronic equipment as the two prong plug folds down so it =
can fit into a one-prong or a two-prong outlet.=20

In addition to movies and short subject programs, ATA also offers an =
array of audio entertainment channels. The genre includes: classical, =
oldies, jazz, soft rock, pop, and Latin pop. Sports channels and =
playtime channels are also available. Currently, all inflight =
entertainment is available in English only. However, beginning June 1st, =
movies, videos, short subject programs and inflight programming will =
also be offered in Spanish (English Channel 1 and Spanish Channel 2).=20
