Pan American Airways Introduces Portsmouth to Newark Service

Connection to New York City Starts June 28th

PORTSMOUTH, N.H., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Pan American Airways announced
today that it will begin daily service to Newark International Airport from
Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The flights, which are designed to offer the
areas' business traveler a convenient connection to New York City and northern
New Jersey, will begin on June 28, 2002, but are for sale immediately.
Pan Am President Dave Fink said, "We are very excited about this Seacoast
to the Big Apple connection. Pan Am has been working hard to develop a
convenient means for the regions' business and leisure passengers to get to
New York. The flight schedule, combined with Newark's new AirTrain will make
this connection work well. We are very eager to begin to offer service to New
York City and northern New Jersey and believe it will add an important element
to the regions' transportation infrastructure." Fink added, "The Newark
International Airport has emerged as the 'Gateway to New York' and we are
confident it will serve Pan Am's passengers well."
The airline's two daily, non-stop flights from Portsmouth to Newark will
lift off from Portsmouth's Pease International Tradeport at 6:30 AM and 6:45
AM. Return service will depart Newark at 5:55 PM and 6: 45 PM, arriving in
Portsmouth at 8:15 PM and 8:00 PM.
The Newark International Airport has recently added the AirTrain monorail
to its ground transportation network. Newark AirTrain connects passengers to
New Jersey Transit and Amtrak Northeast Corridor train lines via the Newark
Airport Station where passengers can easily connect into New York City. The
trip from the terminal takes approximately 30 minutes.
Dan Fortnam, Pan Am's Vice President for Marketing and Sales said, "This
new Portsmouth to Newark route is an important connection for Pan Am.
Providing service to Newark and offering passengers a convenient travel option
to New York City is critical to serving the areas' business community. We hope
to offer an important economic connection for New Hampshire, southern Maine
and northern Massachusetts travelers looking for a convenient connection to
New York City and northern New Jersey.
The Portsmouth to Newark routes will be served by both Pan Am's Clipper
Boeing 727 service and the Pan Am Clipper Connection, operated by Boston-Maine
Airways. Reservation, fare and schedule information can be found at
