By 1981 Braniff was down to three 747s...the 100 and 200 series were used on
the Hawaii and London routes, while the SP was used primarily for their South
American routes.  Four SPs were originally ordered for the Pacific division
as they offered more range than the 100s and 200s.  Of course the enormous
amounts of money spent on the fuel thirsty 747s to destinations where
sometimes the crew outnumbered paying passengers caused BN to shut down the
Pacific division altogether.
