I think youve got it by God.
Buy--cash money - a first class seat and you get one.
Just cause you buy a lot of cheesburgers from the same store dont mean they
have to give you a  20$ steak everytime you pay for a 3$ Burger does it?
(Perishable item dude like you said)
First class isnt paying its way--its a dinosaur--KILL IT and will help the
bottom line for the air carriers in the near future. Or make a real first
class--just a few seats with NO freebees for ANYONE and try to sell it.
