PAUL, April 28 - Northwest Airlines has reached a tentative agreement with its 6,000 pilots to extend their contract by a year, through September 2003. The pact, reached on Saturday, calls for a 4.5 percent pay increase on Sept. 13, and a 5.5 percent increase on Sept. 12, 2003, the airline and pilots said.
