HONOLULU, March 21, 2002 -- Hawaiian Airlines announced today that it=20
will add two new mainland cities to its route structure with the=20
inauguration of daily nonstop service between Honolulu and the cities of=20=

Sacramento and Ontario, California on June 7, 2002.

The new flights will be operated with Hawaiian=92s state-of-the-art =
Boeing=20
767-300ER extended-range aircraft. The twin-aisle, twinjet Boeing=20
767-300ER seats 252 passengers -- 18 in First Class and 234 in Coach=20
Class -- offering widebody comfort and the latest in passenger =
amenities.

With the added flights, Hawaiian will have increased its trans-Pacific=20=

service to 12 daily nonstop flights between key West Coast markets and=20=

Hawaii in time for the peak summer travel season. With direct service to=20=

eight West Coast cities, Hawaiian will connect Hawaii with more U.S.=20
cities than any other airline.

The company on March 15 began daily nonstop service between Seattle and=20=

Maui and recently announced new nonstop service to Maui from San=20
Francisco and Los Angeles to begin June 15, 2002. The company currently=20=

offers eight daily round trip flights between five West Coast gateways=20=

and Hawaii.

Paul J. Casey, vice chairman and chief executive officer, said, =93The=20=

steady improvement in West Coast demand makes this the right time to=20
begin the next phase of Hawaiian=92s expansion plan. With the =
introduction=20
of nonstop widebody service to Sacramento and Ontario, we bring Hawaii=20=

closer for millions more potential visitors.=94

By the end of 2002, Hawaiian will have 11 of its 16 Boeing 767-300ER=20
aircraft on order in service between Hawaii and the West Coast. The=20
company is scheduled to completely replace its existing widebody fleet=20=

of DC-10 aircraft operating trans-Pacific routes between Hawaii and the=20=

U.S. mainland and points in the South Pacific with a total of 16 Boeing=20=

767-300ER aircraft by 2003.

Hawaiian has already completely replaced its narrowbody fleet of=20
aircraft operating flights between the islands of Hawaii with 13 new=20
Boeing 717-200 aircraft.

Founded in Honolulu 72 years ago, Hawaiian Airlines is Hawaii=92s=20
longest-serving and largest airline. The nation=92s 12th largest =
airline,=20
it is also the second-largest provider of passenger service between the=20=

West Coast and Hawaii.

Hawaiian Airlines takes great pride in its innovative onboard service=20
programs that highlight and promote the people and culture of Hawaii.=20
The airline has earned numerous international awards for service in=20
recent years, including the 2001 Zagat Survey=92s award for Best Overall=20=

U.S. Airline in the Premier category, and the 2001 Diamond Award for=20
In-Flight Service from Onboard Services magazine. Hawaiian was also=20
rated third highest in Travel & Leisure magazine=92s most recent ranking=20=

of the Top 10 U.S. Airlines.
