>How so, Simon? What causes the problems? Well, as you may have noticed, each engine is red. However, each engine also has yellow dots - but each engine has a different number of yellow dots and in different positions. Some have stripes, some have circles, etc. Now the whole design is (apparently) licensed - I guess like a copyright of sorts - and that means the design has to be exactly as the designer intended. If an engine change is unplanned (and this can often be the case) picking the next available serviceable engine changes from being a relatively simple affair (a grey engine with a red qf logo) to a logistical nightmare, as the engine has to be red, and depending on which engine it is (ie. #1 - 4), has to have a particular design of yellow dots. My understanding is that it is allowed to fly around for a small period of time without the correct dots, but eventually QF is charged money for not having the correct design on the engine in question! Crazy stuff. -- Regards, Simon Craig If it's not McBoeing, I'm not McGoing!
