Well, the NTSB investigators are gone. No official word on the results of
the investigation, but one of the observers said they flew the departure in a
simulator. I'm told that the liftoff was at or just above stall speed and
that the climbout was very slow and pretty hairy. The controllers were
absolved of any fault. The NTSB evidently used Fedex's MD11 simulator here.
Does anyone know if a MD11 full motion simulator can be programmed to
simulate an A343?
