Does anyone know how many daily flights El Al operates? Compare that figure with what goes out of San Diego each day, much less ATL or ORD, and you'll understand why we cannot operate security checks similar to El Al. Airline flights in the US are essentially mass transit, (anyone riding a coach seat coast to coast knows what I'm talking about), and designed for quick turns. Must be 10 to 15000 passengers a day departing from SAN...How many questioners would it require to interview these passengers? Who would pay for it? Would we be any safer? Would the passenger stand in line for hours to be interrogated? I'm contining to get the feeling that many people would kill the airline industry in order to save it.
