Copyright 2001-2002 The Indianapolis Star Police cite woman for having scalpel on ATA flight Staff Report January 10, 2002 A woman was cited by Indianapolis airport police for carrying a scalpel on a flight that landed Monday night at Indianapolis International Airport. The woman was questioned by airport police and Federal Aviation Administration security officers but was not arrested, said Dennis Rosebrough, airport spokesman. "She was not doing anything malicious," Rosebrough said. The incident was reported on an American Trans Air flight from St. Petersburg, Fla., to Indianapolis. During the flight, the woman found the scalpel in her purse and presented it to a flight attendant, Rosebrough said. He did not know why the woman had the scalpel. The woman was cited for carrying a weapon in a secure area. She faces no preliminary criminal charges, Rosebrough said. An ATA spokeswoman would not comment, saying the airline does not discuss security issues. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
