autoconf-2.72e is now available. This is a *release candidate*

Testing in Windows- and Darwin-based environments would be
particularly helpful. Testing your own project’s configure.ac with
the new autoconf is also particularly helpful.

I tested over 200 of the X.Org packages hosted under
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/ with autoconf-2.72e (along with
automake 1.16.5 & libtool 2.4.7) on Solaris 11.4 x86, with each of
the gcc 13.2.0, clang 13.0.1, and Solaris Studio 12.6 compilers, and
didn't see any problems - they all seemed to build successfully.
(I didn't do any actual testing of the built binaries though, and
today is my last work day before the holiday break, so won't be.)

I did see 3 failures from "gmake check" with autoconf-2.72e, which I
reported separately to bug-autoconf:
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-autoconf/2023-12/msg00156.html

I see one of them is already known:
https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?110986
