One is that the complainer does not know enough about the subject to provide an useful guidance on how to make things better. The other is that those who have used things for a long time cannot see a way to explain things better. Any changes that could be made would be as convoluted as before. How to fix it? Do a proper analysis and create a domain model <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_model>. A domain model should be the first step in any computer project but it is seldom done.
