Hi Paul,

I do hate contributing to this thread, but way back at the beginning,
I believe I remember that his irritation began with with some indecipherable
"command not found" message.  I found the same thing quite frustrating.
I also complained (somewhat more politely :), and now Ralph has augmented
the code with xsystem_hint() so you'll know what package you are missing
when a command fails to run.  We developers are your (autotool maintainers)
users.  We like easy to use things, too.  I know you do the best you can.
I do appreciate it.  Waaaaay better than rolling my own.  :)
