rpm -q libxml2 on both machines
YES!!!
on broken machine
$ ldd /usr/bin/xmllint
linux-gate.so.1 => (0x00c40000)
libxml2.so.2 => /opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib/libxml2.so.2
(0x0054a000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00cbf000)
libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x00cdf000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00c96000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00110000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00b30000)
on working machine
$ ldd /usr/bin/xmllint
linux-gate.so.1 => (0x00cfd000)
libxml2.so.2 => /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2 (0x00244000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00a47000)
libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x00aaa000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00a4d000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x008ff000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x008e1000)
removing /opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib from /etc/ld.so.conf solves that problem
