For openSUSE the results are quite interesting, as we download the raw metadata and parse it locally. Our parsing is much faster than sqlite, but now our bottleneck is download size of big update repositories and Factory (equivalent to Rawhide). I also did some measurements with our repos, and also parsing time (adding support for reading lzma repos was piececake) http://duncan.mac-vicar.com/blog/archives/537 (the original thread is linked there for people CCed) Cheers Duncan -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkn3gqoACgkQzR62qWZ+QtGhvQCgtsGzhmZuNIOInRiXIypajPeH V3QAn0gbE/Zv0RD4HWiW1L9yM0WRFnc6 =CAub -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Yum mailing list Yum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.baseurl.org/mailman/listinfo/yum
