Why would you have to reboot? Do you get an error message when you run
"yum update"? In some cases, yum-updatesd might have a lock in place
which makes yum update fail. You can either wait for it to give up the
lock or turn off yum-updatesd and run "yum update".

"yum update" worked (on the FC7 server).
(I'll check for locks if it happens in the future, though.)
