A free alternative is CentOS; see centos.org for details. Apparently it will be enough to run this: rpm -ihv http://mirror.yandex.ru/centos/3/centosplus/i386/RPMS/centos-yumconf-3-2.noarch.rpm to set up centos3 repos for yum. Can you tell us whether you want to upgrade from RHEL3 to, say, RHEL5, or just wanted to apply all the updates released for RHEL3?
