upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit

I posted a question on FedoraForum about migrating a current fc6 32-bit
installation over to a new 64-bit server and then upgrading it so that it
was 64-bit. Here is a link to that post:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=148526 Anyway, I was
thinking that there may be a way of doing a 'yum upgrade' to go from 32-bit
to 64-bit that would preserve all of my many package configurations. Is
this possible?

thx,
Gerry
