Morgan, I was able to fix this problem using the faq's at http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq 1. Remove the offending package libvisual.so.0 with: [root@localhost ~]# yum remove libvisual-plugins Loading "fedorakmod" plugin Loading "installonlyn" plugin Loading "fastestmirror" plugin Setting up Remove Process Resolving Dependencies --> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait. ---> Package libvisual-plugins.x86_64 0:0.2.0-3.fc5 set to be erased --> Running transaction check Dependencies Resolved ============================================================================= Package Arch Version Repository Size ============================================================================= Removing: libvisual-plugins x86_64 0.2.0-3.fc5 installed 1.2 M Transaction Summary ============================================================================= Install 0 Package(s) Update 0 Package(s) Remove 1 Package(s) Is this ok [y/N]: y Downloading Packages: Running Transaction Test Finished Transaction Test Transaction Test Succeeded Running Transaction Removing : libvisual-plugins ######################### [1/1] Removed: libvisual-plugins.x86_64 0:0.2.0-3.fc5 Complete! 2. Then run the following to install the new packages: [root@localhost ~]# yum upgrade 3.
