For starters, this is because redhat does not make binary rpms available without purchasing RHEL, after which they'd currently like you to use RHN. If you're trying to keep updated because your rhel license has expired and you don't want to purchase a new one, investigate the CentOS project. Otherwise, you'll have to use RHN for RHEL packages (or make your own yum repo, but that's another thread), and yum for packages from third party repositories such as rpmforge, jpackage etc. > > I have installed a few extra packages.
