I suspect (but do not know) that this is correct.  NFS is, after all,
a filesystem (sort-of) and so includes a whole bunch of other stuff
that HTTP doesn't have to worry about.  If you really want to test,
though, you should probably put a few files server that is both NFS
mounted and running an HTTP server, then run a small python script
using urlgrabber to fetch files repeatedly.  That will give you the
the answer you want.
