Oh, sorry:

rgb@lilith|B:1011>rpm -qv yum
yum-2.3.4-1.duke.1

FC4 (or if you like Linux@Duke)

rgb@lilith|B:1013>rpm -qv python
python-2.4.1-2

It just looks like yum (or python) is promiscuous in the loop over
package matches and that maybe python is "generous" in its memory
allocation per dereference in that loop.
