[Yum] Trouble running 'yum update' on Fedora Core 4

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I am attempting to update programs on my Linux box with Fedora Core 4
using "yum". When running the command *yum update*, I am receiving the
following messages:

There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

   No module named yum

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.4.1 (#1, May 16 2005, 15:19:29)
[GCC 4.0.0 20050512 (Red Hat 4.0.0-5)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please send this
message to <yum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>.
-----

I have downloaded and have apparently installed the yum version 2.4.0-1
package, and have downloaded and installed Python version 2.4.2 but am
still getting the error message.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
WMD
