[Yum] Updating Python

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello there,

I just upgraded from fedora core 3 to Fedora Core 4.
Python was upgraded from 2.3 to 2.4.

At first boot in Core 4 i launched a yum check-update, but i had the
following :

yum
The yum libraries do not seem to be available on your system for this
version of python 2.4.1 (#1, May 16 2005, 15:19:29)
[GCC 4.0.0 20050512 (Red Hat 4.0.0-5)]
Please make sure the package you used to install yum was built for your
install of python.

I then uninstalled yum and went for a new one to install it once again.

I still have the error.

Tried to uninstall python 2.4 but there is too many dependencies.
Anyway i also still have python 2.3 in /usr/lib.

How can i have my yum back and working without re-installing my system ?
