One good feature would be checking dependencies of rpms to be installed/upgraded viz-a-viz installed rpms on the machine...could be quried from the rpm manager and the user warned of missing dependencies. One question though, can yum check if a rpm package is not corrupted?...maybe from a checksum in the rpm itself....note that I'm not asking if the rpm is genuine....that depends upon the repository & the official release checksum.
