McKinley, Work around this FC2 problem by putting: exclude=ppp in the "Fedora Core 2 - i386 - Released updates" stanza of /etc/yum.conf and then, barring other difficulties, "yum update" should run successfully. Take that line out of /etc/yum.conf sooner or later, or the "ppp" package will never again be updated from that repository when a new version is released. Good luck, Troy seth vidal wrote: > On Sat, 2004-07-10 at 10:17 -0700, McKinley Williams wrote: >>I receive the following messages when I execute "yum update": >>Gathering header information files files servers >>Server: Fedora Core 2 - i386 - Base >>Server: Fedora Core 2 - i386 - Released updates >>Finding updated packages >>Downloading needed headers >>Resolving discrepancies >>.conflict between initscripts and pppd >> Then yum exits >>What may be the problem > It's a problem in the ppp package from fedora core 2. > Not related to yum.
