[Yum] Yum updates without Internet Connections ...

Greetings ...

    Will be testing 2.0.5 soon ;-}

    But, I have a question that has been puzzling me ...

    If I take a backup of /etc/yum.conf and /var/cach/yum ... Should I
not be able to do a yum -C update without having to access the internet?

    The reason I ask, I have had twice already were I have done a clean
install, copied the above mentioned files onto the computer from a tar
ball, and done an update, but the system complains that it can't get
some files and does not do the update ...

    Can anyone give me some in-sight?

Thanks
Mailed
Lee
