Python has a way of doing that to people. Perl and Python are nearly opposites philosophically. I programmed quite a bit of perl and was quite fluent before I grudgingly investigated python. It was only a few months before I was porting my perl tools to python. You should check it out. -Michael DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to start a flame-war. I'm not suggesting that python is "better" than perl. Frankly, I'd suggest that people who've only written python should take a look at perl. As always, I'm not interested in comparisons from people who haven't spent months (at least) programming in both, mostly because the stuff I wrote when I was in that state was embarrassingly incorrect or naive. -- Michael Stenner Office Phone: 919-660-2513 Duke University, Dept. of Physics mstenner@xxxxxxxxxxxx Box 90305, Durham N.C. 27708-0305
