[Yum] yum-arch -c error -- AttributeError: sigChecking

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Greetings-

We are encountering errors when attempting to use yum-arch's -c option,
described in the manual page as "check pkgs with gpg and md5 checksums -
cannot be used with -n."

The box we are having an issue with is running Red Hat Linux 9, RPM 4.2,
and yum 2.0.2 installed via the 2.0.2-1 RPM. See below for some additional
system info.

As root, in a test directory, i can bring in the full Red Hat Linux 9
errata from a local mirror.

I can run "yum-arch ." with no problems:

> # yum-arch .
> Digesting rpms 100 % complete: httpd-2.0.40-21.5.src.rpm
> Total: 224
> Used: 164
> Src: 0
>
> Writing header.info file

I can also run "yum-arch -s ." and receive no errors:

> # yum-arch -s .
> Digesting rpms 100 % complete: httpd-2.0.40-21.5.src.rpm
> Total: 224
> Used: 224
> Src: 60
>
> Writing header.info file

Executing a "yum-arch -c" results in the following:

> # yum-arch -c .
> Digesting rpms 0 % complete: kernel-smp-2.4.20-18.9.athlon.rpm
> Checking sig on kernel-smp-2.4.20-18.9.athlon.rpm
> Traceback (most recent call last):
> File "/usr/bin/yum-arch", line 23, in ?
>     pullheaders.main()
> File "pullheaders.py", line 146, in main
> File "pullheaders.py", line 257, in genhdrs
> File "rpmUtils.py", line 55, in checkSig
> AttributeError: sigChecking

The error does not seem to be related to any particular rpm package. I can
remove packages with no effect other than to change the package referenced
in the "Digesting rpms 0 %" status report before the error.

A little bit of system info:

# rpm -q redhat-release rpm rpm-devel rpm-python yum gpg-pubkey-*
redhat-release-9-3
rpm-4.2-0.69
rpm-devel-4.2-0.69
rpm-python-4.2-0.69
yum-2.0.2-1
gpg-pubkey-db42a60e-37ea5438

Running an rpm --checksig on the collection of RPMs behaves as i would
expect, all signatures check out.

Any suggestions? I seem to recall using yum-arch -c with success on
earlier systems, 1.x versions of yum, probably.

Is the -c argument to yum-arch broken, not yet implemented, or am a
missing something that needs to be corrected on my end?

Many thanks,

-jeff
