[Yum] about yum option- update and upgrade?

They are questions that got answered the first time you asked them.
Perhaps you are not subscribed to the list?

Yum consideres "obsoletes" when  you do "upgrade".  It does not when
you do update.  That is, if you have a package that claims to obsolete
another package, the new one will be installed with an "upgrade".

It has been done and it may go smoothly.  Search the archives of this

The whole purpose of yum is to address dependency problems.  Yum
update will take care of the dependencies for you, or it will do
nothing and complain loudly if it cannot.
