[Yum] Yum on x86_64 help

Garrick:

Thanks for the pointer. It addresses the installation issues, but
doesn't address the following for me:

1 automated updates ... e.g. will yum update both packages and put
the 32
bit one in place first so the 64 bit one can overwrite it?

2 kickstart automation, unless the 32 bit compatibility is a
package/group
I can put in the kickstart config file.

3 Non-redhat packages that provide both 64 and 32 bit libraries that
we
want to manage via YUM... e.g. ones we build ourself.

And, yes, why redhat provides 32 and 64 bit packages that conflict with
each other is beyond me. This is the type of thing that drove me to
Debian years ago. I've got to use Red Hat (or a Red Hat derived)
distribution for my current employer, hence the requests.

Jeff.
