That way, if you want it, install 2.2. If you don't, then don't worry about it. This might be friendlier than then a full branch. It all depends on what other differences between 1.5 and 2.2 cause you trouble. In my experience, almost everything that works under 1.5.2 works fine under 2.2, and those things that don't are easily fixed so they do. Not sure what the shebang line should be in /usr/bin/yum though.
