I'm not sure I follow the question.  Are you using host device
passthrough (so the guest sees the raw USB device), or are you exposing
the USB contents as a <disk> to the guest, or something else?  Pasting
some XML corresponding to the guests you are setting up might help us
understand what you are asking.  I guess I'm confused by your use of the
term "thin client" - are you referring to an external device that then
exposes an NFS or iscsi or other block device to the host, which you are
then exposing to your VM?
