It looks like it has something to do with windows sharing on my storage appliance.
When I enable CIFS, that hidden folder appears.
The storage pool can't be created because the permissions on the .$EXTEND folder cannot be changed.
Apparently for the pool to be created virt-manager needs full access to all files and folders.

What is the .$EXTEND file? Is it a socket or something strange like that?
