Patch 2/2 is basically https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2016-March/msg00230.html and patch 1/2 is an implementation of the idea outlined in https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2016-March/msg00729.html to address the flaw discovered by John.
