We've written and implemented a kickstart-tools web CGI which allows the end user to customize their boot disk by selecting a hardware and software profile and optionally some extra items like disk partitions, etc. It then creates a boot disk / driver disk combo, boot.iso or kickme shar file (which can be run on an existing Linux install to modify grub to kickstart the machine when rebooted).
