Hi Alain, first of all sorry for all the trouble......and thanxs for the help you provided throughout the discussion. I have successfully compile both the scripts on RH9.0 and both working fine with excellent results. Your idea of adding a "print fname" was great. There was an error in tetex rpm i had with me which gave all the problem. Thanxs to Brett Schwarz also for the help. I was forwarded a link by a friend in my dept about yum another tool just like the scripts of Brett, i have not checked it by i think this work on same line..http://linux.duke.edu/projects/yum/ Alain if possible can you give me some link on anaconda i want to know more about it, its code and its structure.
