If u have the Intel EEPRO/100 cards it preferable to use the e100 driver
rather than the eepro100 driver

Memory's fuzzy, but I remember there used to be some issues with the Intel
EEPRO/100 cards. IIRC, there are 2 drivers out there for it, and the default
one was as slow as molasses. 

Do you have this particular NIC, by any chance?
