Where do you want to set them up?

The reason I ask is if you want to set them up in the %pre or %post script,
then you can because they are bash scripts (I think...not so sure about
%pre).
Or you can set your interpreter to python for instance and then create
varialbes.
I am not sure that variables amoung the directives would be useful since
they themselves
are not conditional.
