I am trying to boot a box with a 7.3 boot floppy I created. At the boot prompt I type: linux ks=nfs:<dhcp server>:/export/kscfg/ I can see the box connecting to the DHCP box via logs. In my DHCP config file I have the following 2 lines: filename "/export/RHL_ISOs/7.3/cfg_files/kscfg/ks.cfg"; next-server <dhcp server>; I would like to do this so that when we do installs the floppy can have the "ks=nfs:<dhcp server>:/export/kscfg/" hardcoded via the syslinux.cfg file. By doing it this way I can control via the dhcp server rather than the floppy which ks.cfg file to use. I should also note that these machines are being used in a cluster as compute nodes and are located in a server room where another dhcp server already exists, therefore if I don't explicitly include a dhcp server at the boot: prompt then the other dhcp server may ackowledge this compute node's request... Can this be done? It would appear that once I pass an argument to the booted kernel on the boot floppy the entire boot procedure is set in stone and the box will only boot with a <node's ip address>-kickstart (1.2.3.4-kickstart) file is present. -- ####[ Linux One Stanza Tip (LOST) ]########################### --=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-- Sub : Loss of root password LOST #029 --=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-- Log in to Single user mode.
